Microchip Technology UPD301C Basic Sink Application Example (EV11L78A)

Microchip Technology UPD301C Basic Sink Application Example (EV11L78A) is a reference design based on the UPD301C Standalone Programmable USB Type-C™ Power Delivery (PD) Controller. The UPD301C Basic Sink Application Example adheres to the USB Type-C Connector Specification and USB PD 3.0 specification. Powered by the USB Power Delivery Software Framework (PSF), this evaluation platform provides a quick and easy way of replacing the standard power connector (barrel plug) in any application with a small form factor, reversible Type-C connector. The design supports Dead Battery mode and can sink up to 100W from any standard USB PD power supply.

The Microchip Technology UPD301C Basic Sink Application Example supports up to six configurable Power Delivery Objects (PDOs), all of which are selectable through the onboard rotary switch. The platform can also support unique custom PDOs by making configuration changes to the PSF PD stack.

The UPD301C Basic Sink Application Example is designed to work with the Atmel-ICE Programming and Debugging Tool. The Atmel-ICE enables connection to a Microsoft Windows-based PC running the MPLAB® X Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
