Analog Devices Inc. AD5933 Impedance Converter & Network Analyzer

Analog Devices AD5933 Impedance Converter and Network Analyzer is a high-precision system solution that combines an onboard frequency generator with a 12-bit, 1MSPS, analog-to-digital converter. This solution is implemented in electrochemical and bioelectrical impedance analysis and impedance spectroscopy in addition to corrosion monitoring and protection equipment. The frequency generator allows an external complex impedance to generate an excitation signal with a known frequency. The response signal from the impedance is sampled by the onboard ADC and a discrete Fourier transform (DFT) is processed by an onboard DSP engine. The DFT algorithm returns a real (R) and imaginary (I) data-word at each output frequency.
