ams OSRAM TCS3430 Tristimulus Color and Ambient Light Sensing (ALS) Sensor exhibits on-chip interference filter technology. This enables advanced digital ALS and CIE 1931 Tristimulus Color Sensing (XYZ). The TCS3430 sensor accurately measures ambient light and senses color through optical response obtained by the channel filters. This sensor is capable of ±10% illuminance and correlated color temperature accuracy. The TCS3430 tristimulus sensor offers a wide dynamic range, high sensitivity, programmable gain, and integration time.The TCS3430 tristimulus color and ALS sensor comes in a 2.41mm x 1.75mm x 1mm small footprint package that enables a low-profile system design. This device features VDD 1.8V I²C bus, 1.7V to 2V supply voltage range, and -40°C to 85°C temperature range. The TCS3430 sensor is ideally suited for use in smartphone applications to improve color measurement and intensity of ambient light conditions. Other typical applications include display management, color sensing, camera image correction and enhancement, ambient light sensing, optical identification, and color matching.
